Randstad Education is seeking a Diploma Qualified candidate to work as the Assistant Director/Educational Leader for a permanent full-time position in a lovely ELC in Port Melbourne.

About the organisation

The position available is with a cluster managed owned and operated service which provides education and care for children from 3 months of age to 6 years old children . The centre is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm and you would work on a rotating basis with the Director. They have a play based philosophy where Reggio Emilia philosophy is embraced. As they are a part of a larger company career progression, training and professional development are offered and encouraged.

About the Role

You will be in charge of the running of the 122 place centre in the absence of the Director. This is an off the floor role where you will be required to oversee programming and planning and you need to be confident using the EYLF. You will report to the Director and share office duties with the Director also. Parent communication such as tours, updates, email communications, newsletters, telephone inquiries and meetings you will be involved in. This is a great role for someone seeking career progression.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Hold or working towards an ACECQA approved Diploma qualification or above
• Current Working with Children's Check
• Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates or willingness to obtain one
• Current Child Protection Training or willingness to obtain one
• Must have experience as an Educator or Room Leader

About your new position

As the Assistant Director/Educational Leader, you will be responsible for assisting the Director in the daily leadership and coordination of the centre's management.

This will include the following responsibilities:

• Achieve the best learning outcomes for children
• Develop and deliver a curriculum which is founded on the centre's philosophy as well as the principles, practices and outcomes of the EYLF, whilst following childcare regulations and National Quality Standards
• Create positive learning environments encouraging play-based learning
• Build professional, respectful and open communication with children, families and educators
• manage and lead educators
• ensure staff: child ratio
• new parent inquires and centre tours
• ensure the centre is compliant with regulations
• complete office duties as required
• Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic, safe and engaging
• Overlook and improve the curriculum of the centre
