This lovely 75 place centre located in the suburb of Rosebery is seeking an Assistant Director (2ic) to join their team to help guide a team of educators. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for long standing, experienced and knowledgeable Room Leaders to step up or for a current Assistant Director looking for a change in environment.
The focus of the service is to collaborate with families and the community to provide the highest quality care for all children. The service takes a play-based approach to learning and they have a strong focus on advancing children’s education so they are primary school ready. Further to this, the service is also equipped with innovative indoor and outdoor environments and the newest resources to ensure children and staff have the best environment to collaborate within.
The service is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
The Role
As the Assistant Director of the service your responsibilities will include:
- Working with and alongside the Centre Director to manage the daily responsibilities of running and maintaining a childcare service
- Motivating, supporting and working in partnership with your team of Teachers and Educators driving them to excel as they deliver care and educational programs to children
- Having a thorough knowledge of and experience with implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Child Safety Standard
- Adhere to NQS as well as company policies and procedures
- Developing and maintaining relationships with families and members of the community to maintain/increase the centre’s occupancy

Essential criteria
- A Diploma or Bachelors of Early Childhood Education and Care OR ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification
- A current Working With Children Check
- Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) or willing to obtain
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and QIP
- Proven experience in a leadership role in the Early Childhood setting
