As the Assistant Director Risk, you will work with the Group leadership team to assist this Insurance Business to deliver a high performance, high integrity, approach to the organisations risk culture.

Your role will be a risk management specialist providing support to risk owners in their identification, management and monitoring of Group, Divisional and program level risks.

Duties:

  • Contributing to the preparation of Group risk action plans, including facilitation of risk workshops to identify, assess and control risks
  • Monitoring and analysing trends in mitigating risks, including risk treatment plans used to minimise potential exposure and harness opportunities;
  • Assist the Group management and leadership team to monitor KRIs, risk appetites and tolerances;
  • Promoting workplace practices consistent with internal and external policies

The successful applicant will display the following attributes;

  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team, including developing staff and managing performance, and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
  • High level of competency in consistently applying assessment tools to identify support needs.
  • Able to negotiate effectively by listening differing ideas and views to develop a clear understanding of the issues, and to present persuasive counter-arguments.
  • Developed ability to synthesise and analyse complex and confidential information and make decisions.

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and membership of appropriate professional organisations.
  • Certified Practicing Risk Manager (CPRM) or equivalent will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria

  • Significant experience in supporting the implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks within complex and multifaceted operating environments, based on AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 and/or CPS220.
