Our client has an upcoming role available for an experienced Assistant Director who has an accredited health profession or social work qualification. This is a rare opportunity to utilise your experience and skills for a Federal Government Department that provides key services to Veterans and their families requiring assistance.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing advice on service delivery opportunities and requirements to enhance clients outcomes and ensure effective service delivery. Effectively collaborating with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risk to client safety whilst ensuring client access to quality based treatment and support services
  • Providing clinical leadership in regional delivery of programs and services
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with service providers contracted to the department
  • Undertaking Quality Assurance activities which may include audits, case file review, risk review, and contract compliance reviews
  • In accordance with organisational goals, ensuring a program of treatment and psychoeducational groups and workshops area developed, promoted and delivered
  • Undertaking line management responsibilities for staff including the recruitment, training, support and performance management of employees
  • Contributing to the National Management team and act for the Regional Director as required

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications must be that of an accredited health professional or social worker
  • Qualified health professionals must have current registration with the Australian health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)
  • Preference is for mental health professionals including Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers or Mental Health Occupational Therapists with extensive clinical and relevant management experience
  • Working with Vulnerable People and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior to commencing
  • Health professional and social workers must have extensive clinical and relevant management experience
  • Contract management experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate your claims against the EL1 Integrated Leadership System (ILS)
