Randstad Education are seeking a highly motivated and professional OSHC Assistant Coordinator / 2IC in a Centre located South Canberra. This role is within a not-for-profit community organisation and is available for an immediate start.

The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Co-ordinator to deliver a high Out of Hours Care (OSHC) service while building strong relationships with the children, families, school personnel and colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a supportive and inclusive environment for families, including children with additional needs
  • Support in planning and organising day to day program with co-ordinator
  • Perform specific tasks including but not limited to supervision of children, running of activities, cleaning, food preparation and others
  • Support co-ordinator to ensure all educators are aware of their responsibilities and roles in relation to Work Health and Safety, Mandatory Reporting, Emergency Procedures and other policies and procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Holds or working towards a relevant tertiary qualification preferably in Early Years
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People card
  • Has a current Senior First Aid Certificate & Anaphylaxis and Asthma training

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in staff supervision and performance support
  • Previous 2IC experience within childcare
