Assistant Category Manager needed to help grow the brands and sales in a very fast paced and ever changing market place. The Assistant Category Manager is responsible for supporting the category strategy through import management, Private Label range analysis and ensuring products meet social compliance and quality criteria. This role is the first point of contact for factories and suppliers, and develops and implements the private label range in conjunction with the relevant category management team. The Private Label Specialist works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers across a wide range of categories within the business.

The Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development and execution of import programs to drive sales and awareness
  • Assist internal stakeholders on developing Private Label ranges including reporting and analysis
  • Assist in product selection and pricing analysis
  • Maintaining strict Social Compliance records
  • Assist in reviewing specific markets and finding growth areas for Private Label
  • Assist in the development of appropriate merchandising strategies
  • Assist in the operational implementation of new Import Agreements
  • Effectively communicate changes and critical updates to factories and operations staff
  • Monitor factory spend patterns and performance
  • Investigate and undertake corrective action for poor factory performance

Key Experience and Skills:

  • Solid Private Label management experience with the tenacity to drive product range development, positioning and direction
  • Strong skills in research and presentation of recommendations
  • A high level of commercial acumen and focused on driving and achieving results
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills underpinned with strong influencing and decision making skills
  • Strong customer focus and an understanding of customer needs
  • Strong MS Office skills and working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Relevant degree qualifications in a business related discipline preferred
