Randstad has been exclusively engaged to recruit multiple Assistant Accountant positions for a highly respected not for profit organisation conveniently located in Melbourne’s CBD. This organisation is renowned as a leader in the industry and is one of the largest in Australia. This organisation is taking on a challenge to make positive and meaningful difference and seeking experienced Assistant Accountants to join them on their journey of change and developing client centric shared services hub.

Reporting to Finance Team Leader, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Preparing and reviewing BAS and Input Activity Statement
  • End of Month Reconciliations including Salaries, Fee and Levy, Fringe Benefits Tax
  • Clearing accounts and credit card statement and enter transactions into General Ledger
  • Preparing Financial Statement (Actual to Budget)
  • Preparing Annual Financial Statements
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts at the end of each month
  • Preparing and reviewing Trial Balance each month
  • Maintenance of Asset Register
  • Reviewing and identifying outstanding creditors and recommend any necessary action to be taken
  • Ad hoc accounting and support duties

To be considered for the role you will ideally need to have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Recent experience with high volume transactions
  • Recent experience with large ERP system
  • Excel - Pivots and V-lookups is a must
  • Ability to build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly desirable if you have not for profit experience
