The Company:

My client is a global manufacturing company based in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Due to recent growth, they are now looking for an experienced Assembly Supervisor with a background in Mechanical Assembly. You will work along with a team of experienced tradespeople to achieve assembly deadlines, meet quality targets and build internal relationships across the company.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Your main duties within this role will include but not limited to the following;

  • Develop and Implement operational strategies and budget
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure all assembly deadlines are met
  • Work in a team environment to ensure the assembled products meet the quality targets
  • Advise and offer solutions to the operations manager if any assembly components are not readily available
  • Report any product defects identified during the assembly process and investigate possible alternatives to ensure on time delivery to customer is met within the specified timeframe
  • Ensure continuous improvement is conducted to reduce lead times and assembly cost.
  • Train or facilitate training for all new or existing employees
  • Promote a positive work environment
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial environment is desirable
  • Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principle
  • Excellent Communication and Report Writing skills
