The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially astute Area Manager to oversee centres in NSW.

Reporting directly to the State Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide commercial leadership and operational direction to multiple child care centres. The role has full accountability for achieving optimum business results and positive outcomes for all children within your area.

This role is based in Sydney, however, will include travel to services in regional NSW. The minmum expectation for travel is 6 days per month, ideally, over two periods of consecutive days.

Key Accountabilities

  • Effectively leading and motivating your managers to deliver commercial and quality outcomes
  • Development of Centre Managers through successful coaching, mentoring and performance management to achieve optimum results
  • Ensuring managers build strong relationships with families through effective CRM utilisation, communication and other engagement strategies
  • Effective monitoring and action to ensure the success of the area’s performance with priority given to underperforming centres
  • Ensuring all targets for centres are achieved through the implementation of effective business planning, roster management and initiatives to build occupancy
  • Implementing and monitoring of regulations, policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you must have the following

  • A minimum of 3 years’ successful track record as an Area/Operations Manager across a dispersed network
  • Management experience gained in a service related industry
  • Experience working within a highly regulated framework
  • Diploma in Business or equivalent management experience
  • Diploma in Children’s Services, or equivalent (desirable)
  • Strong commercial acumen including the ability to use business data effectively to drive results
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with a strong customer and sales focus
  • Childcare software – Qikkids and CCMS (desirable)
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail
  • Energetic, action oriented with a passion for mentoring and leading teams
  • A willingness and ability to travel between centres
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Ability to work with children
