The Role

One of our Fed Gov clients is looking for (Assistant) Account Managers at the APS6 and EL1 level. The Accountmanagers will act as the primary point of contact for client agencies seeking advice, support and assistance in relation to grants activities. Account Managers are primarily focused on client management, and provide an ongoing client-focused experience throughout the process. They must have a comprehensive knowledge of grants administration.

Account Managers are an important component in the agencies capacity to provide a coherent capability in grants administration, providing opportunities for client agencies to gain efficiencies through a central source of expertise. Account Managers will not be required to act as a point of contact with grant recipients. Account Managers develop relationships with internal enabling areas and personnel in order to achieve outcomes for their client agencies and meet the requirements of the Partnership Agreements.

The work performed by the (Assistant) Account Manager will include:

  • Design grant programs, including developing project plans for grant activities in consultation with client agencies and demand management to help ensure the project plan is adhered to;
  • Provide pragmatic advice and support to client agencies in navigating the grants program delivery model, including identifying linkages across related programs;
  • Work in partnership with new client agencies to ensure a seamless transition to the agencies services;
  • Work with internal enabling areas and personnel to monitor the progress of supporting activities and provide ongoing communication with client agencies on the progress of work;
  • Provide guidance on the grants selection and assessment process, including timeframes and resourcing;
  • Liaise with and manage stakeholders, both internal and external through proactive engagement;
  • Ensure grant processes are compliant with the Commonwealth grants framework and associated legislative requirements, including the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (July 2014), Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014;
  • Provide input and advice towards new policy proposals;
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and culture of continuous improvement;
  • Escalate issues to Relationship Managers as necessary; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will have proven skills and experience in assisting Government agencies with [eg. stakeholder identification and analysis, documenting business requirements, and providing guidance for user acceptance testing activities].

Applicants should have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, show initiative and be outcome focussed].

Applicants must be able to build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders, be an effective team player, and make positive contributions.

Applicants should demonstrate the breadth of their business analysis experience across multiple projects. Including training of user groups and communication to user groups.
