Seeking an experienced and driven Program Coordinator for a 12-month contract opportunity in Newcastle.

- Rate: $60.26 per hour plus superannuation
- Contract: 12-month initial assignment, commencing ASAP
- Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Location: Newcastle NSW
🔑 Key Skills Required
- Demonstrated experience in program management and delivery, including coordinating projects, tracking milestones, managing workflows, and ensuring alignment with governance, budget, and reporting requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Understanding of First Nations cultures and communities, and a commitment to fostering culturally safe environments and improving outcomes for First Nations peoples.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs, including briefs, reports, and correspondence, within tight timeframes and in line with organisational standards.
- Experience in contract and grant management, including procurement processes, financial tracking, and compliance with Commonwealth frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
✔️ Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience working in or with First Nations organisations, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and understanding of community-led approaches to program delivery.
- Familiarity with co-design and place-based approaches, particularly in the context of First Nations engagement and inclusive program development.
- Understanding of government program management frameworks, including grant administration, procurement, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience contributing to strategic initiatives or reforms, particularly those focused on improving outcomes for First Nations peoples in health, disability, or social services.
- Formal qualifications in public administration, project management, community development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
