About your new role
The Program Coordinator requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, specifically with First Nations communities and service providers, and a commitment to improving outcomes for First Nations peoples through a culturally safe approach. Key duties include coordinating projects, managing workflows, ensuring compliance with governance and budget requirements, and preparing high-quality reports and correspondence.
What you will need to exceed
... Expertise in orchestrating and executing demanding projects, including disciplined management of project lifecycles, deliverables, risk identification, and regulatory compliance reporting.
A natural aptitude for establishing robust working relationships and rapport necessary to effectively engage with Indigenous stakeholders, departmental colleagues, and external delivery agents.
Proven capability in contributing to the creation and deployment of performance measurement frameworks, analyzing outcomes data, and championing initiatives for systemic improvement.
Exceptional capacity for articulation and conveyance of complex ideas, both in formal writing (briefs, reports, correspondence) and in verbal presentations.
In-depth understanding of ensuring programs are culturally informed, incorporating principles of cultural safety, First Nations perspectives, and participatory co-design methodologies.
Desirable
Substantive experience collaborating with or operating inside Indigenous self-governance entities, particularly Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), and recognition of models that empower community-driven program delivery.
Specialised understanding of iterative, partnership-based design processes (co-design) and the application of interventions tailored to local geographic needs (place-based approaches), particularly for inclusive engagement and enhanced outcomes with First Nations communities.
