About the Role:

Randstad is working with a Federal Government client who is seeking an experienced APS6 Communications Officer for an 8-month non-ongoing contract within their Internal Communications team!

With direction from the Internal Communications Manager, the primary role of this position as an Internal Communications officer is to deliver a number of regular internal communications products, work with Account Teams such as HR, Property and the security team to produce Internal News. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing internal communications strategies
  • Write, edit and manage internal newsletters in consultation with line areas and line management
  • Developing internal communications products for internal TV monitors and various other channels such as the intranet
  • Planning and managing internal events such as town hall meetings

In order to be successful for this role you will:

  • Australian citizenship (this is mandatory)
  • Qualifications in journalism or communication and/ or Public Relations with industry experience in communications (preferably Government Internal Communications experience)
  • Undergo a police check
  • Experience in writing content; for example, articles, web copy, e-newsletters
  • Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies
