aps6 financial accountant in Canberra

Your responsibilities:

• Delivering high quality financial outcomes.
• Confidently work under limited direction.
• Support a small team and ensure the quality and timeliness of your work.
• Demonstrate excellent judgement
• Provide technical guidance in relation to financial matters
• Assist in planning, capability development and strategic improvements.

Your duties:

• Responsible for month-end financial reporting and the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Preparation and review of month-end journals, procedures and reconciliations within time-critical deadlines
• Preparation of the annual financial statements and disclosures including accounting position papers on accounting judgements and estimates
• Engagement, development and management of relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external)

Your Experience:

• Demonstrate an analytical mindset by analysing data to identify insights, issues, risks and opportunities, and proposes solutions in consultation with stakeholders
• Strong technical and system expertise to understand, modify and develop financial processes in compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks
• Exercises good judgement, seeks out opportunities to contribute to continual process improvement

Qualification and requirements :

• Hold formal qualifications or experience in Accounting, Finance or relevant fields
• Experience in SAP will be highly regarded
• You must be Australian Citizen and be able to go through Integrity and security check processes

Your benefits package:

• $82,898 - $95,181 (range depend on your experience) plus 15.4% superannuation
• Canberra Base office location
• Initial 12 months non ongoing contract
