... Education and Liaison: Educating, informing, and liaising with mainstream services to enhance participant experience and boost social and economic participation.
Stakeholder Relationships: Maintaining local relationships with relevant key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
Team Collaboration: Working as part of a high-performing team to effectively engage with people with disabilities, their families, and carers using a nationally consistent engagement approach.
Representation: Representing the NDIA at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disabilities, NDIS participants, and the wider community.
Project Delivery: Proactively delivering engagement activities and projects aligned with the NDIA Engagement Strategy by applying communication and engagement expertise.
Effective Communication: Delivering clear, concise, and effective messaging to people with disabilities, their families, and carers, as well as other community and mainstream stakeholders.
Inbox Management: Managing the state/territory engagement inbox, acting as a point of escalation for triaging inquiries and requests.
Note: The key responsibilities of the role are based on current priorities and may change over time.
Work Environment Characteristics and Requirements
The role is required to be performed in a work environment that has the following core characteristics:
- Open Office Environment: Exposure to general workplace chatter.
- Remote Work: Occasional work from home.
- Hot Desk Environment: Shared workspace.
- Sitting Periods: Significant periods of sitting at a counter or desk.
- Telephone Operation: Regular use of a telephone.
- Computer Work: Computer/screen-based work.
- Software Proficiency: Ability to use computer/software applications, including Microsoft Office and relevant business applications such as client records management systems.
- Assistance Animals: Potential presence of assistance animals in the work area.
Additional Role Requirements
In addition to the above characteristics, the role requires:
- Offsite Attendance: Visiting external locations, including participants' homes, which may have multiple stories or be accessible only via uneven ground or stairs.
- High Phone and Face-to-Face Interaction: Performing high levels of phone usage and/or face-to-face work.
- Driving Responsibilities:
- Driving a vehicle to attend external locations not accessible by public transport.
- Driving over long distances in all traffic and weather conditions, including the ability to manage minor vehicle issues (e.g., changing a tyre).
- Navigating remote locations on unsealed roads under varying traffic and weather conditions.
- Mobility Requirements: Ability to move over uneven terrain, such as unsealed roads, footpaths, steps, and stairs in all weather conditions
