Randstad has recently been voted the top recruiter across the public sector for 2020 and are proud to currently be partnering with large Federal Department to recruit an APS 5 Research Administration Officer to join their team based in Brisbane.


Your new position

In your role as a Research Administration Officer, you will be working within a supportive federal government environment and will take an active role in the largest worldwide study following Indigenous children and families over time.

As a Research Administration Officer, your duties will be:

  • Conduct computer-assisted telephone interviews with study participants
  • Manage survey sample using the survey management tool
  • Manage allocation of incentives
  • Provide fieldwork status reports to management
  • Conduct field testing including piloting surveys and software
  • Monitor and plan logistics using SharePoint
  • Coordinate community engagement activities
  • Project management activities
  • Engage and collaborate with team members and other stakeholders
  • Travel via air, ferry and road transport for extended periods of up to three weeks per trip (once restrictions lift)



Your Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role you would have skills and experience in the following to be a successful Research Administration Officer:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to organise your own workload
  • Experience using survey databases and Sharepoint or similar tools would be an advantage
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Capacity to organise work, coordinate input, maintain confidential records and meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture
  • Must obtain and maintain a Working With Children Clearance
  • A current drivers license
  • Baseline security clearance or ability to obtain clearance

What You’ll Receive

  • Hourly rate of $53+ per hour plus super
  • 6 month contract with a possible further 6 month extension
  • A dedicated government Consultant
