Randstad is currently looking for Compliance Officers for one of their exciting Government Departments. As a Compliance Officer you will be required to work as a member of a team to produce work of high quality to achieve outcomes within tight deadlines.

You will:

  • Be able to review and audit participant and provider data from multiple sources and assess inconsistencies to ensure that the scheme delivers its services and payments in line with legislation and policies.
  • Undertake activities to assess and treat the risk of non-compliance by participants and providers
  • including misuse of funds and self-managed participants claiming for supports that are not
  • reasonable & necessary.
  • Timely escalate information and more complex cases to relevant teams for remediation in accordance with legislation.
  • Work under the support and general direction of senior staff, and make decisions based on policies and legislation.
  • Exercise a degree of discretion when interpreting and applying procedures and guidelines and undertake your work to achieve results in line with agreed goals and business plans.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and represent the Agency with credibility and professionalism.

In this role you will:

  • Provide support in analysis of participant and provider data to assess payments made against participant plans.
  • Collaborate on assessing and examining documents from participants, providers and other sources to assist with making decisions based on policy and legislation.
  • Complete moderately complex desk based assessments to ensure payments are accurately delivered to provider and/or participants
  • Conduct telephone interviews to verify information and data
  • Liaise with stakeholders to resolve moderately complex issues and escalate where required
  • Provide advice and education to participants, providers, stakeholders and colleagues on regulatory and compliance matters
  • Escalate information and more complex cases to relevant senior staff for remediation
  • Undertake research and examine evidence from participants and providers
  • Update and maintain case records based on information provided by participants or providers

Knowledge or ability to obtain knowledge:

  • Programmes and services administered by the Agency
  • Compliance practices
  • Competency in applying assessment tools and IT systems
  • Legislation, policies, procedures, frameworks and information management requirements relevant to work area
  • The Agency’s role, responsibility, privacy, ethics, workplace health and safety and security protocols
  • The function of the Branch and its role in the wider Agency
  • Relevant business systems and tools

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret and apply knowledge and legislation
  • Moderately developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Exhibit personal resilience and an ability to deal with moderately challenging situations and conversations
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate information
