My client, a large, leading, Australian Aged Care provider is looking for a super flexible, empathetic and caring Assistant in Nursing for an ongoing casual position based in one of their modern facilities in Ballina, NSW. Ballina is a beautify seaside town just a short drive to Byron Bay and a days’ drive to Sydney.

about the role

As an AIN you will be providing friendly & compassionate support to the elderly by helping with daily living, personal care and hygiene. Typical duties include:

  • tending to any personal care needs of the residents in a respectful and caring manner
  • showering, dressing and assisting with eating where necessary
  • arranging and supervising activities designed to enhance physical, social and emotional wellbeing
  • assisting in household or centre based duties such as tidying & house cleaning
  • adhering to all policies & procedures and reporting all concerns and incidents to management
  • maintaining accurate and legible administrative records and submitting within allocated time frames

about you:

  • minimum Certificate III in Aged Care with current First Aid and Flu vaccine
  • demonstrated experience working in aged care or children's services
  • patient, flexible, understanding, caring and communicative, with a commitment to the rights of the elderly to live dignified lives
  • enthusiastic and supportive team member, with strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in relation to residents, families, colleagues and others as appropriate
  • Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job as well as perform domestic duties efficiently
  • National Police Clearance or willingness to undergo criminal history check
