The Company

A Local council in the south east is looking for an experienced Administration Officer to join their vibrant team! The client is focused on their customer experience and the right person would need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills as well as administration skills.

The Role

To provide high quality administrative support to the Community Strengthening Department and its Manager, coordinate reports to the Execvutive and Council and respond to customer requests and administrate the customer services processes in an effective manner.

Your Duties Would Include

  • Provision of administrative support to Community Strengthening and the Manager Community Strengthening including the coordination of Council reports, briefing notes, Executive briefings and Council Plan reports. Diary management and organising minuting of departmental meetings.
  • Process and produce letters, large mail outs, reports, minutes, Council reports, brochures and discussion papers initiated within the Department.
  • Effectively utilise the computer systems and software to produce accurate reports, correspondence, charts and other documents as required and within set timeframes.
  • Ensure that supply of office requisites, pamphlets and information are kept up to date and within approved levels.
  • Other administrative duties such as photocopying, book binding, collating, distribution of information, faxing, and laminating.
  • Provide information and advice on activites and programs undertaken with the depratment

Skills and Requirements

  • A nationally recognised Certificate in Administration or similar field or relevant experience.
  • Proven administration and customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft software packages (particularly – Word and Excel).
  • Typing speed of 40 – 50 words per minute.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and gain cooperation from people from a diverse range of backgrounds, whether they be council staff, member of the public, contractors, material suppliers or fleet suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and handle complaints effectively
