This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and diverse not-for-profit organisation who provide a variety of services to the community. There is a competitive hourly rate on offer for the right candidate. Part time working hours will be 30 hours a week between Monday-Thursday.

About the role:

The Accounts Team Lead will work closely with the Finance Manager in overseeing all finance functions. This role will supervise a transactional accounts team of 4.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Staff supervision; leading, mentoring, challenging and team development
  • Monthly Reporting
  • Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring all month-end functions including reconciliations and reporting are undertaken in an accurate and timely manner
  • Check and sign off on balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations prepared by all Finance Officers
  • Liaise with external auditors and suppliers, providing information as required
  • Prepare monthly cash flows
  • Assist with monthly financial report for management and the board
  • Responsible for maintenance of the assets register
  • Preparation of purchase orders for assets acquisition
  • Monthly journals for depreciation
  • Annual Review of Insurance policies dependent on organisational needs
  • Attend to staff queries regarding insurance

Assist the Finance Manager with core functions including:

  • Preparation of annual budgets and costings for tenders and other proposals
  • Preparation of annual report and financial reporting to funders
  • Monitor developments in accounting standards, Tax legislation and other reporting and compliance requirements
  • Assist with end of financial year processes

About you:

In addition to having experience in a similar role, you will have:

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • High attention to detail and solid time management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in the aged care sector or similar industry (preferred but not essential)
  • Prior and recent experience managing a team of transactional accounts staff
