In this role you will report Material price variance between the standard cost and the actual cost, as well as reporting the labour costs and addressing the variances weekly with the production supervisors and project managers. You will help maintain the business process in reporting data and flow of information between cost centers and the main office, plus maintain and review inventory, fixed assets and depreciation in the general ledger and reconciling balance sheets. In addition, you will help to prepare monthly management accounts and provide recommendations. You will also be responsible for classifying and calculating cost components in the manufacturing process, and budgeting and variance analysis.
about the manager/team
This role reports to the CFO and there are 2 other Management Accountants within the organisation. The company also outsources basic accounting and bookkeeping functions to an accounting firm.
skills & requirements for the job
You just possess a relevant accounting and finance Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with minimum 2 years of accounting experience. Prior experience as a Cost Accountant is not essential as long as you have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. This role is well-suited for somebody who understands costing and operations within a manufacturing accounting environment.
