Utilising best practice standards and model litigant principles you will be responsible for the management of the

claims allocated from the initial assessment and investigation of the claim to the negotiation and settlement using

mediation, legal representation and court processes to determine liability and quantum and appropriate resolution

strategy.

The position available is an A04 Property Claims Officer on an initial 3 month contract, paying $54.34 per hour plus super.

Your new position

• Applying best practice principles, process and manage a designated portfolio of claims from receipt to finalisation comprising primarily of property claims and some aspects of liability claims in a common law environment.
• Monitor and update the Claims Management System ensuring continual data integrity.
• Participate as a member of the claims team.
• Draft correspondence including internal submissions.
• Negotiate appropriate direct settlement of claims with the insured, claimant or solicitor acting for the claimant and approve settlements, legal and other expenses in accordance with delegations.
• Prepare reports, summaries and submissions with respect to claims.
• Other tasks that support the business needs across the broader claims unit.

Your Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualifications in the insurance industry is highly regarded
