  • pre employment functional assessments

    • New clients are offered a complimentary visit by one of our allied health team who will attend site and view and discuss the physical demands of the roles being assessed.

    • The information gathered from this consultation is utilised to develop a set of physical and clinical tests designed to determine whether a candidate meets the requirements of the role.

    • All testing is completed by an accredited Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Exercise Physiologist/ Scientist  

    • Candidates will engage in a variety of clinical and functional tests designed to allow the assessor to determine the applicant’s ability to perform the physical demands of the role they are applying for. 

    • Assessment results for pre employment functional assessments will be sent to the referrer immediately following assessment

  • medical assessments (including heavy vehicle and rail)

    • Randstad utilise a network of medical practitioners to offer a range of medical assessments including:  

    • Pre employment medical assessments
    • Heavy / Commercial vehicle medicals  
    • Rail medicals (Cat 1,2 & 3)
    • Asbestos medicals

    • Assessment results for medical assessments will be sent to the referrer within 24 hours following assessment (this may vary if further medical investigation is required)

  • drug and alcohol testing

    • Randstad Drug and Alcohol testing is completed within AUS/ NZ standards: 

    • AS/NZS 4308:2008 Procedures for specimen collection and the detection and quantitation of drugs of abuse in urine 
    • AS 4760:2006 Procedures for specimen collection and the detection and quantitation of drugs of abuse in oral fluid

    • Testing is available both on site and out of one of Randstad’s health centre locations.

    • Services are developed based upon our client’s drug and alcohol policy. A copy of this will be requested prior to testing. 

    • Alcohol testing will be completed through a breath test collected via an Alcolmeter.

    • Drug testing will be completed via either oral fluid (saliva) or urine. 

    • Results will be sent to the referrer immediately following assessment

  • audiometric testing

    • Randstad are able to offer three levels of audiometric assessment:

    • Reference (baseline) testing
    • Monitoring testing
    • Audiometric screen

    • All testing is completed in line with AUS/ NZ standards (AUS/NZS 1269.4.2014 Occupational Noise Management - Auditory Assessment).

    • On site testing is available and can be provided without the need of an audio booth/ mobile booth (environmental demands specific). Please discuss this further with us. 

    • Testing is also available either at one of Randstad’s Health Centre locations. 

    • Results will be sent to the referrer immediately following assessment.

  • spirometry testing

    • Randstad are able to screen an individual’s lung function and determine whether medical intervention is required.

    • Upon request these results can be provided to one of our network of doctors to provide their medical opinion.  

    • Testing is available either on site or out of one of Randstad’s Health Centre locations and is completed by an appropriately trained assessor.

    • Results will be sent to the referrer immediately following assessment

  • functional capacity evaluations

    • Randstad’s team of allied health professionals are accredited in the completion of Functional Capacity Evaluations utilised to determine an individual’s current physical capacity. 

    • This information is useful in determining an individual’s capacity to complete a role prior to employment and during employment, determining the impact of an injury on function and monitoring physical recovery during rehabilitation. 

  • worksite assessments/ job dictionaries/ job analyses

    • These assessments are utilised to identify the critical physical, mental and cognitive demands of a role and structure this information within a report format for easy reference. These reports are useful in the management of injured workers return to work processes and also in matching the testing requirements of an FCE to the specific to demands of a role in order to determine fitness for work. 

    • Randstad assessments offer a point of difference in their structure, classifying (sedentary, light, medium, heavy, very heavy) not only the job role as a whole but also the specific tasks required of the role. 

    • The benefit of this lies within the return to work process and early injury intervention, allowing certifying doctors the ability to identify suitable duties for an injured worker and minimising lost time from work e.g. a role may be identified as medium/ heavy and unsuitable for a return to work however individual tasks involved in that role may be sedentary/ light.  

    • Upon receipt of referral a Randstad Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist will arrange a date/ time to attend site to complete the site assessment aspect of the service. The allocated assessor will attend site and review the physical demands of the roles being assessed, taking measurements, video and photos. 

    • The information gathered through the site visit will be utilised to develop a report outlining the critical physical cognitive and mental demands of the role and identifying the classification of each role and each task in regards to its physical demands.

  • workstation ergonomic assessment

    • Basic assessment:  Suitable for new starters or office relocations ensuring the workstation is set up in a manner appropriate to the individual  and aimed at minimising workplace injuries resulting from inappropriate workstation set up. Assessment time is approximately 15 mins per assessment including a short summary report 

    • Comprehensive assessment: Suitable for individuals who have experienced an injury that restricts their ability to utilise their workstation or that is aggravated by their workstation set up. The aim of this assessment is to modify the workstation set up to resolve these issues.

  • manual handling training

    • Randstad manual handling training consists of a 1.5 hour theoretical training session and a further 1 hour of practical workshop. 

    • The workshop aspect of the training is targeted specifically to the individual workplace risk factors. These risk factors are identified prior to training in consultation with the employer. The trainer will attend site and assess these tasks; this assessment will be at no charge.

    • Training will be completed by a qualified Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist with experience in providing manual handling training. The trainer will travel from Adelaide CBD to the location identified for training on the date/ time agreed.

    • Note: Randstad training is as contracted by companies for their groups of employees, we do not offer training to individuals.
