Tailored services: 

Randstad understand that no two businesses are the same and services need to be tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. In order to understand these needs Randstad provide complimentary consultation with an accredited Occupational Therapist of Physiotherapist to discuss the business and review the demands placed on our employees. Services are developed specific to the information gathered from these visits. 

Customer Service (Communication & Timeframes):

Post assessment Randstad guarantee verbal confirmation of results within 12 hours and aim for report results to be you within 24 hours. We are also in the process of developing an exciting new electronic system to improve these timeframes further… we are happy to discuss these opportunities with you on request.

  • Pre Employment Assessments – Functional Capacity Evaluation

    • Clients will receive a complimentary site visit from a Randstad Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who will attend the worksite(s) to observe the different roles workers are employed into and the physical demands of these roles. The information gathered from these visits in combination with any existing Job Dictionary, worksite assessment or Job Analyses will be utilised to develop testing and assessment templates specific to the assessed role. Candidates will be tested to the physical demands of the role they are applying for. 

    • All testing is completed by an accredited Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Exercise Physiologist. 

    • Candidates will engage in a variety of clinical and functional tests designed to allow the assessor to determine the applicant’s ability to perform the physical demands of the role they are applying for. 

    • Assessment results will be sent to the referrer within 24 hours and a phone call will be provided by the assessor on the day of assessment to provide verbal feedback.

  • Pre Employment Assessments – Medicals

    • As per Functional Capacity Evaluation Randstad provide a complimentary site visit. The information gathered from these visits in combination with any existing Job Dictionary, worksite assessment or Job Analyses will be provided to the assessing doctor/ medical practitioner and utilised to assist them in determining the candidates’ fitness for work’.

    • Randstad work in partnership with a number of medical practitioners across Adelaide and South Australia allowing facilitation of fit for work determination and a range of specialised medical assessments including (but not limited to): 

        o Commercial Drivers Medicals 
        o Asbestos Medicals 
        o Mining Medicals (with option for same day X-Ray results)
        o Rail Medicals

    • Candidates engage in a variety of medical tests designed to allow the medical practitioner to determine a candidate’s fitness for work.

    • The allocated medical practitioner will provide all assessment results to Randstad who will then provide to the referrer along with any further assessment results (i.e. FCE’s, Drug and Alcohol) within 24hrs of assessment. 

  • Drug and Alcohol Testing

    • All Randstad Drug and Alcohol testing is completed within AUS/ NZ standards: 

        o AS/NZS 4308:2008 Procedures for specimen collection and the detection and quantitation of drugs of abuse in urine 
        o AS 4760:2006 Procedures for specimen collection and the detection and quantitation of drugs of abuse in oral fluid

    • Testing is available both on site and out of one of Randstad’s health centre locations. This is determined in consultation with our client.

    • Services are developed based upon our client’s drug and alcohol policy. A copy of this is required prior to testing. 

    • Alcohol testing will be completed through a breath test collected via an Alcolmeter.

    • Drug testing will be completed via either oral fluid (saliva) or urine. 

    • Available as stand alone or as part of Pre Employment Assessment service.

    • On site testing available.

     

  • Visual screening

    • Candidates colour, near and distance vision is tested and any identified abnormalities noted and reported to the client. If required, workers may be directed to review their vision with an appropriately qualified medical provider or consultant. 

    • Testing is completed either on site or out of one of Randstad’s Health Centre locations by an appropriately trained Randstad Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist.

    • Available as stand alone or as part of Pre Employment Assessment service. 

    • On site testing available. 

     

  • Audiometric Testing

    • Work Place Health and Safety regulations 2012 (Chapter 4 – Hazardous noise). Section 58 dictates that employees who are frequently required to wear personal protective equipment to protect them from the risk of hearing loss associated with excessive noise need to have audiometric testing provided by their employer:

        o Within 3 months of the worker commencing work
        o In any event, at least every two years

    Note: Randstad recommend that these regulations be referenced directly, the information provided above is purely a brief summary

    • Randstad offer two levels of audiometric testing: 

        o Screens
    A screen will provide an indicator of an individual’s hearing levels and whether further testing is required.
        o Baseline
    Baseline testing will assess an individual’s current hearing for future reference in line with AUS/ NZ standards. 

    • All testing is completed in line with AUS/ NZ standards (AUS/NZS 1269.4.2014 Occupational Noise Management - Auditory Assessment).

    • Testing is available either on site or out of one of Randstad’s Health Centre locations and is completed by an appropriately trained assessor.

    • Available as stand alone or as part of Pre Employment Assessment service.

    • On site testing available. 

  • Spirometry Testing

    • Randstad are able to assess an individual’s lung function and monitor changes over time or identify potential health risks. 

    • Testing is available either on site or out of one of Randstad’s Health Centre locations and is completed by an appropriately trained assessor.

    • Available as stand alone or as part of Pre Employment Assessment service. 

    • On site testing available. 

  • Fit for Work/ Return to Work Functional assessment

    • Referrers will often require a determination of an employee’s ability to return to their role or an alternative role following an injury or medical condition. 

    • Utilising the same process as per ‘Pre Employment Assessment FCE’ Randstad is able to assess an individual’s work capacity and ascertain whether they meet the physical criteria of the role they are being assessed to. Randstad may also offer options for modifications or restrictions that can be implemented. 

    • This service is effective when combined with a worksite assessment, Job Analysis or Job Dictionary to confirm the physical demands of the role and allow a direct, clear comparison. 

    • If required a candidate may be referred to a medical practitioner for further assessment. This will be communicated to the referrer prior to occurring and approval sought. The process for the medical assessment will be as per ‘Pre Employment Medical’.

    • Timeframes for completion of this assessment report will be agreed upon with the referrer prior to assessment. The assessor will provide a hard and electronic copy of this report to the referrer within these timeframes. Verbal feedback will be provided on the day of assessment.

  • Worksite Assessments/ Job Dictionaries/ Job Analyses

    • These assessments are utilised to identify the critical physical, mental and cognitive demands of a role and structure this information within a report format for easy reference. These reports are useful in the management of injured workers return to work processes and also in matching the testing requirements of an FCE to the specific to demands of a role in order to determine fitness for work. 

    • Randstad assessments offer a point of difference in their structure, classifying (sedentary, light, medium, heavy, very heavy) not only the job role as a whole but also the specific tasks required of the role. 

    • The benefit of this lies within the return to work process and early injury intervention, allowing certifying doctors the ability to identify suitable duties for an injured worker and minimising lost time from work e.g. a role may be identified as medium/ heavy and unsuitable for a return to work however individual tasks involved in that role may be sedentary/ light.  

    • Upon receipt of referral a Randstad Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist will arrange a date/ time to attend site to complete the site assessment aspect of the service. The allocated assessor will attend site and review the physical demands of the roles being assessed, taking measurements, video and photos. 

    • The information gathered through the site visit will be utilised to develop a report outlining the critical physical cognitive and mental demands of the role and identifying the classification of each role and each task in regards to its physical demands.

  • Workstation Ergonomic Assessment

    • Randstad offer two types of workstation Assessment: 

        o Basic assessment: 
          - Suitable for new starters or office relocations ensuring the workstation is set up in a manner appropriate to the individual  and aimed at minimising workplace injures resulting from inappropriate workstation set up.
          - Assessment time is approximately 15 mins per assessment including a short summary report 

        o Comprehensive assessment: 
           - Suitable for individuals who have experienced an injury that restricts their ability to utilise their workstation or that is aggravated by their workstation set up. The aim of this assessment is to modify the workstation set up to resolve these  issues.

    • Assessment times vary dependent upon the individual’s symptoms/ injury/ workstation however are capped at three hours. This assessment and timeframe include a summary report.

    • Assessments are completed by an accredited Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist.

    • Following assessment individuals will be informed of the results of their assessment and the assessor will develop a summary report and provide to the referrer within 24-48 hours. The referrer will also receive a phone call on the day to receive feedback.

    • In the situation that equipment is recommended the assessor will discuss this with the referrer, include this recommendation in their report and request written approval to purchase this equipment. Upon receipt of approval the assessor will make arrangements for the purchase and delivery/ set up of equipment.

  • Manual Handling Training

    • Randstad manual handling training consists of a 1.5 hour theoretical training session and a further 1 hour of practical workshop. 

    • The workshop aspect of the training is targeted specifically to the individual workplace’s risk factors. These risk factors are identified prior to training in consultation with the employer. The trainer will attend site and assess these tasks; this assessment will be at no charge

    • Training will be completed by a qualified Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist with experience in providing manual handling training. The trainer will travel from Adelaide CBD to the location identified for training on the date/ time agreed.
