We had a great night networking with the students from the Smith Family at our networking event. Our Senior Consultant Sarah had one of the students Assad come in to register and placed him in his dream permanent job two weeks later. Assad has his first job in a pharmaceutical company working in customer service, where he will grow and develop his skills to one day become a pharmaceutical sales representative.

This is the perfect reminder of why we do what we do every single day at Randstad. We are given a great opportunity to shape people's lives and make such a positive impact.

Some of the initiatives I’ve been involved in for Randstad this year include mentoring a graduate referred through the Shaping Young Futures program. By providing his details to a colleague in my team, he was successfully placed at Macquarie Bank in a contract role.

I’ve also presented at various events, and sponsored the most recent Financial Planning Association networking event. I know these initiatives have an impact. It’s part of the conversation I have with my clients and candidates to increase my credibility and the referrals I get which is vital in my candidate short market.

Christina studied Finance and Accounting and had always wanted to work in that space. She registered with Randstad because the day-to-day tasks were not what she was after, and was looking for a position where she would have more interaction with people. After talking about a few opportunities, we thought she could do well in a sales role. Without much experience in this field, we convinced the client to interview her via a virtual interview. The client was impressed, and after completing the interview process she was hired.

I received a call from my client advising that Christina has settled in very quickly and is now the benchmark for new hires.
