working in early childhood

Early Childhood Centres throughout New Zealand provide care to the 0 to 5 year old age group. This includes qualified and unqualified staff. If you hold an overseas qualification that you believe allows you to work in an Early Childhood centre you will need to have it recognised by the NZQA. For more information, visit their website - www.nzqa.govt.nz

To work as an unqualified Early Childhood worker or unqualified assistant, no formal qualification is needed. However, you must have experience working with children aged 0 to 5 years and demonstrate initiative.

work permits

New Zealand schools may assist successful teachers with work permits. Once a job offer is made the school and teacher will work together in finalising the teachers work permit. Select Education does not assist with obtaining work permits.
