Focus on Safety Secures Contract for Randstad
A strong commitment to safety and expertise in the manufacturing space has enabled specialist recruitment & HR services company, Randstad, to secure a significant three year contract with automotive interiors company, Futuris.

Futuris designs and manufactures automotive seating and interior solutions across a growing international network of design and manufacturing facilities throughout China, Asia-Pacific, North America and South Africa.

Randstad won the subcontract labour hire agreement across Futuris’ South Australian sites - Edinburgh Park and Golden Grove - and has transitioned over 100 casual workers from Futuris’ former supplier. As part of the new agreement, Randstad is providing a specialist onsite consultant at Edinburgh Park to manage the entire contract with the support of Randstad’s Elizabeth West office.

Group Director of Randstad, Nick Elsdon said how pleased he is to be partnering with an innovative and quality-focused company such as Futuris.

“Futuris’ values, business and people approach very much aligns with ours and we are looking forward to working together as their recruitment & HR services partner to help them source the right people and grow their business over the coming years.

Elsdon says one of the main reasons Futuris selected Randstad to be their recruitment partner is due to our outstanding commitment to safety.

“The safety of workers is part of our culture at Randstad. At all levels of our company – from our recruitment consultants and dedicated OH&S team, right through to senior management and our CEO – we have a vested interest in and commitment to our guiding safety principles and driving the continuous improvement of our approach. The safety and wellbeing of workers is part of our DNA and a key driver of our competitive edge. We strive to make it the same for clients such as Futuris,” adds Elsdon.

“Not only do we strive to meet and exceed our legislative obligations to protect the wellbeing of all employees and contractors by ensuring safe working environments, we are committed to best practice, information sharing, ongoing safety consultation and providing leading monitoring systems.”

Demonstrating their commitment to occupational health and safety as a top priority, Randstad recently achieved AS/NZS 4801:2001 accreditation - a leading standard in OH&S – and were the first labour hire company to achieve Self Insurance status in Australia.

“It’s vital the right contractors are well-matched to the right workplace culture and the right job to ensure longevity, satisfaction and productivity. Matching the right candidate to the right role is of paramount importance and we have a longstanding history doing this well. Reinforcing our commitment to this, we have a dedicated person onsite at Futuris to look after our people and all OH&S matters.

Elsdon adds Randstad has been specialising in the manufacturing sector for over 20 years and will continue to invest in this sector by building the expertise, skills and knowledge of their industrial experts and constantly looking to improve their service delivery.

“We have spent over two decades defining, creating and shaping the world of work — shaping lives and businesses for the better. It is a track record of protecting a future we are very proud of.”

Managing the Futuris/Randstad Contract will be Adam Weekley, National Manager of Randstad’s Industrial division.
