Australian businesses continue to create new roles
Australian businesses are continuing to create new roles for workers, data from the country has revealed.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the number of people employed in the nation increased by a figure of 20,400 to 11.4 million throughout the month of September, with 10,800 of those finding full-time work during this period.

With the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate standing at 5.2 per cent, the number of residents out of work decreased by 3,800 to 634,200 last month, while the labor force participation rate was 65.6 per cent.

Elsewhere, people in Australia worked fewer hours throughout September than they had the previous month, with monthly aggregate hours worked down by 9.4 million to 1,615.1 million.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics' 2010 General Social Survey recently revealed 78 per cent of those aged over 18 living Down Under were satisfied with the quality of their lives.

Some 43 per cent of respondents were pleased or delighted with the paths their lives had taken, while a further 34 per cent reported being mostly satisfied.
